Mount Joy Parade, the strip of shops, restaurants etc facing
the ocean beach. Here you will find fashionable boutiques,
restaurants varying from pizza style family restaurants, fish
and chips to some of the best sea food, Greek, Spanish tapas and the
famous Lorne Hotel.
The main surf beach, patrolled during school holidays but one of
the safest beaches in Australia.
Erskine estuary, which can be viewed from the deck, where there
is a safe, sandy river beach for young children, with, over the foot
swing-bridge, a small café with hire facilities for pedallos.
Year round dog beach - situated a short stroll from the swing bridge.
Cinema, go back in time and enjoy an "old fashioned" experience.
Tennis courts, trampolines, paddle boats are all available for hire.
Local Attractions (Short Drive):
Lorne pier: here you can fish or, more easily, purchase fresh fish or
even more conveniently lunch or dine at the Pier Restaurant.
George River: 5 min drive. Great beach and estuary.
Teddy's Lookout: 20mins walk from house with spectacular
views over the Otways and George River. From here you can
walk down on old tram track to the Lorne Pier and Pacific
Hotel for a meal and drink.

Alanvale: 30 mins walk. From here you can walk along the
George River to the sandy ocean beach. A short walk along
the Great Ocean Road, or better still along the rocks and beaches,
will bring you back to Lorne Pier.
Eastern Beach is a short drive towards Airey's Inlet, where there
is a patrolled surf beach and great beach walking.
