Lorne Amenities
Supermarket:
This is less than 5 mins walk away. It has a bottle shop, fresh meat section etc. It has the reputation as the most expensive supermarket in Victoria - so beware, BYO!!
Restaurants:
A good variety; you can eat-out each night at a different one. We reccomend:
- Ba Ba Lou which is situated close to the supermarket. Try the tapas and Spanish beer.
- Mark's: for a dining experience.
- Lorne Hotel for a good quality counter meal - gets very busy.
- Kosta's - recently changed hands, but always crowded and good quality and service.
- The Arab - great for coffee, breakfast and less formal dining. Count the motorbikes parked outside on a nice Sunday morning and calculate the ages of the owners!
- Pacific Hotel - 268 Mountjoy Parade.

Shopping:
Eclectic fashion shops abound but the Lorne Hospital Op shop is a must.
Beaches:
- Surf beach, patrolled during the summer and school holidays. This is one of the safest beaches in Australia - but swim between the flags.
- River beach - Erskine River estuary, which can be seen from the deck, is a great safe place for young children; parents can relax in the small café situated by the Swing Bridge.

Sports:
There is an Oval at the end of the street, tennis courts at Erskine House and the Lorne Country Club - where there is also an 8 hole golf course and a restaurant.
